The Vette still gets better gas mileage that anything I driven in over 20 years. A lot more fun too.
I have driven hot rods for MANY years. I have a '79 Black Corvette, but it was never used as daily driver. My last daily driver was a '95 Mustang hot rod that would dance sideways at the touch of the pedal AND got about 22 mpg back and forth to work on the highway only. My '00 MN6 'vert is now my daily driver, 300 miles per week highway and 150 in town. I drive it fairly easy, cruz-control @ 80 going to work, (mostly) easy through the gears in town, and according to my slightly optimistic DIC it gets consistently 27-29 mpg average per tank. Doing the math, the readout is about 1 mpg optimistic, but my wife’s 05 VW turbo (4 banger 6 speed automatic) will barely break 25 mpg with steady freeway driving with cruise control set. I have, at one dirt bag moment or another, driven 4 bangers, but NONE, NONE have averaged 27 mpg as my Corvette always does! And with traction control, all the power (most) goes to the pavement, no dancing, just point it, stab it, and go. The C5 Corvette just may be the closest thing to the perfect personal car ever built!
This could be a good solution when it gets released. At current gas prices approaching $3.00/gallon this thing could pay for itself in 3 years depending on your current driving habits. United Nuclear
Use H2 for daily use and then run high octane gas on the weekends or when you want the extra power. Running on H2 will generally result in ~20% reduction in horsepower, so stockers should come in around 280-290hp vs our normal 350hp. The system promises to provide seamless transition from H2 to gas and back. Hopefully they get some kits into prodcution for consumers soon so someone can test it out

That was interesting!!!
It will be interesting to see the what the system in the C4 does! If this really works (and apparently it may), I'll be happy with the reduced HP. I previously owned a 1967 Chevy II SS with a 327 and although it didn't have the power of the LS1, it was super fun to drive!
