Default Memory Seat - Help Needed

How is the memory seat supposed to function? I'll set mine and store it to memory. When I get out and use the "easy out" option the seat will go back to where it's set in memory. However, my wife drove and adjusted the seat. I got back in and pushed "Memory 1" which I had previously set. Nothing happened??? Shouldn't it go to the saved position in this scenario?

Playing around after having it in "my" Memory 1 position I manually moved it around and then pushed Memory 1 and once again nothing happened. Shouldn't pressing Memory 1 put it in the saved position when I push the button? Thanks in advance.

Yes to both questions. My 00 Coupe's memory goes wherever it pleases. Sometimes loses its settings , will work for a while, they go off to somewhere. Sometimes the seat goes all the way forward pinning me to the steering wheel. Just one of several electricle gremlins in my car.

Yes again, my 01 memory just goes to another part of the car at times, along with the remote unlock for the passenger door.

Check your DTC codes in the DIC and report what codes are stored. I bet you have a ton of U series codes. Clear them and see what codes come back after a few days.

This is the absolute best C5 Code web site for checking codes!!!

Sometimes a weak battery can cause this problem. I had a bad door control module in my 02 Z06 cause mine but in my 98 Coupe, it was the battery.

I get the same thing, sometimes the memory works, sometimes not. Pair that with lumbar supports and bolsters that sometimes work and sometimes dont and its quite aggravating.

Bill is that the right link? Goes to a dead page.

Yeah, it's a lot of fun when you get your knees pinned up to your ears by the seat, or when the telescoping column retracts all the way and won't come back out until it pleases...sometimes an hour later!!
I have another appointment with the dealer to try and rectify this BEFORE my warrany expires!! Any ideas as to the problem(s) would be appreciated.
....Absolutely maddening this is!

I've noticed when you have a low battery condition, such as not starting the car for a few weeks, everything ends up getting reset.
