Default Vararam filter problem solved

I recently put on the vram and noticed that it created a slight hesitation during tip in so out came the baja filter.I took the baja and cut it up leaving the 2 foam gaskets still together.also cut the mesh wire but leaving the perimeter in place.I glued the smaller black foam gasket in place down towards the scoops section with the grey section facing up.I rtv'ed a K&N in place in the plenum and thats it.No more problem at tip in and it feels stronger. The 4 ply baja was too restrictive and sotp is obvious.Just thought i'd offer this mod as i'm pleased with the results and it looks clean.

Don't you know that the VR is a POS and causes engine failure, chronic fatigue syndrome, hair loss, erectile dysfunction and is not recommended by 4 out of 5 dentists that chew gum? jeeez.
Looks good.

Steve,
I'm still confused about what symptoms you were seeing after you installed your VR that this mod fixed? Was it not idling properly or something? I didn't understand what you meant when you said tip in.
