Trouble Codes for my 97
Been having some problems with [ service engine soon] message on occassion. When this happens I have the traction control and abs light come on. Shut the car off , turn back on and everything is ok for a long period off time. This has happened only a few times since April. Had the computer scanned for diagnotic and trouble codes P1571 and P1644 came up. Does anyone have any info on these codes and what to do about this. It appears when I first start the car and it is going through the self test,this is when this fails. Does this make any sense?

You might want to try to reseat and clean the EBTCM plug located behind your differential. I had intermittent steering malfunction codes that disappeared after this procedure. Here's a link with pics and location coutesy BillCurlee.
