Car died!
Had noticed some corrosion dust on the positive terminal lead and commented to another owner at the McDorman show last weekend that I thought it about time to replace the NAPA Legend battery with an AGM.
Sure enough, got the battery out this AM, took it to NTB and it was gone. Bought an Exide Select AGM. WOW! 850cca! Doing great now.
Anyway, the reaosn for the post is that I now suspect my ignition switch to have been the culprit in the battery drain (drain of a bad battery...). Last Sunday, I recall that the radio did not shut off after I shut down the car, removed the key, and opened the door. Thought that a bit strange, but just turned off the radio. Car was dead when I went to start it pm Saturday.
Any one else have a similar experience? Could this be the ingintion switch? Have not had the same problem since I got the Exide. Ammeter is showing 13.6-14.1 volts when driving, so I seem to be OK now.
Any ideas?
