Splintered Spring
So I was putting on my new Brembo rotors this weekend and noticed that my front spring had some splintering on the passenger side. WTF! 
Is this a common problem? Is this a wear out part? I'm suddenly not comfortable driving my 30k mile car.
Anyone else experience this?

I bought mine with 29,xxx miles, changed oil at 35,000 and noticed my front spring was splintered on the passenger side. I had FE1 suspension, soooo, I added Z06 springs, swaybars and Bilstein Sport shocks. I was not comfortable driving with a spring that was coming apart. I have no idea why this happens, mine was lowered, but the bushings were not cut.

This happened to me on my Coupe. Front spring started splintering. I drove around like that for several months, however you should get it replaced. If the spring failed at high speed, a wreck would be inevitable. Try to get the dealer to fix it under warranty, if not look for some Z06 springs.
