Default alternator install
Any crazy things I should know about? Or just release the tension, un- bolt and bolt new one in?

Super easy on a C5! Like VortechC5 says, definitely unhook the battery! When you remove the bolts twist the alternator back and forth, it will push the bushings back making it easier to reinstall. Less than a 5 minute job on a C5, hardest part is getting the belt off and on!

Yep, that is pretty much it. But do unhook the battery. Look at Step One of my line lock install
here .

Does getting the belt off require adjusting/loosening the tensioner pulley? If it does, what are the steps?

Tensioner is spring loaded. Put a wrench on the pulley bolt and rotate it then pull the belt off the water pump pulley.

Of course. I could i forget. I had a Chevy van years ago. That's How i replaced the alternator then. Thanks!
