Dex-Cool......What Brand?

After only 116,000 miles my water pump is leaking. I changed my anti-freeze once before at 70,000 miles and used good old GM Dex-Cool. What other brand is just as good? Was it Texaco? Thanks......

I remember when wate pumps only lasted like 70,000 miles or less..
Does this make me old??

I was thinking the same thing..... "only 116K miles". Used to be the whole car was shot after 70K or so. I guess we owe the Japanese something for this. But then again they owed us, didn't they.

I believe Prestone also makes a dexcool equiv.

Texaco it is, and they also make a 50/50 premix that's handy to have setting around for topping things off.

Make sure the pre-mix you get is the Texaco Havoline "Extended Life"
with the Dex-Cool Approved by GM label on the front of the bottle. I think they make a cheaper 50/50 without the Dex-Cool.
