Oil Pressure Sensor
.....It's the sensor. $30, couple cold ones and some patience and you can fix it NP.Where are you guys finding this for around $30? The dealer near me wants $67. Are you going to Napa or some place like that?

BTW, I would really recommend using the correct torque when tightening. Many a good sensor (ECT, EOP, etc) has been ruined by over-tightening which usually distorts the body and causes internal damage or leakage. HTH
These instructions were fantastic! Thanks for pointing to the link. I just finished installing my oil pressure sensor and it is working perfectly!
One tip I might add is to have a 27mm deep socket to remove the sensor. Of course, I didn't have one. By the time I realize this, of course it was too late to run to the store. There is very little room to remove the sensor with regular pliers. I couldn't put everything back together and leave my kids at home alone to run to the store. I managed to get it off with a pair of vice grips!
It's not that bad of a job. There were two difficult parts. 1: the hidden screw on the drivers side of the manifold was a pain to get out due to this bracket getting in the way. The other was trying to plug in this tiny little plactic hose into this fitting in the back of the manifold. The manifold has to be in place before you plug this short plastic piece back in place. Very, very tight place to try to put the piece back in the hole.
Take care!

Anyone got any input on this?
I am an old foreign car mechanic and my son is new to Corvettes.
...well lets try it ..it has nascar on the box....
I followed the DYI -- do it yourself and save the install $$ - not hard to do.
You don't have to remove the manifold - just move it forward 6 inches.
The hardest part is getting the very small air tube set back into place (it controls your HVAC vents)
I ordered the GM part online.
GM/AC Declo has a revised sensor, at least for the z06. Can't image why it would not be the same for a non z06 car. Don't have the part number available at the moment, but looking at both the old and new you will see the hole for oil collection at the bottom of the sensor a lot smaller than the old one. Don't know about the internals of the sensor.
You can do this swap yourself if you have a metric socket set and fuel line disconnect tool. Took me two hours to do it; I'm an accountant which explains that. Great thing about the LS engine, pull intake off with no coolant, oil, gaskets to deal with. What a diff as compared to the LT/L98 intakes.
I saw somewhere in this thread that a member was charged $300 for the swap by a dealership. Problably took the tech 45-60 minutes to do it.
FYI...I was told there are two oil pressure sensors. One that feeds the dash and the other that will shut down the fuel system if the pressure drops too low.
I was also told then that they were replacing a lot of these. Sounds like they still are.
