Thinking about buying a pair of LG"s, with hi flo cats and X pipe as I have the Corsa indy's on already. My question is the power that this setup will produce, will it be noticed "by the seat of the pants"? as I would not be putting on a dyno. And how is the power on the bottom end, and were does the real power band start? Thanks
I haven't tested LGs, but with other long tube/high flow cat setups, I've seen 35-40 horsepower increases at the wheels. Corvette Fever has done a few tests over the years and I think they reported a 37 horsepower increase. No reason the LGs shouldn't be just as good or better. From what I recall, the power increase was pretty much across the board. Not as big an increase down low, but there was an increase.
I did another brand and didn't get squat on dyno or at strip. You will spend the money well with LG's - do not worry so much about dyno - as the man said: "it's when the rubber meets the road!!"
Plus if you use the cats they have you won't be loosing much in the way of power, I dynoed with and without and pulled the same HP but lost four lbs of TQ.
Squeeser,
I had the same setup and it was way too loud! 98dbs at startup. Wife could tell I was coming home a mile away, no $hit. After a tune I got less that 15rwhp. H/C + is the way to see large increases from LGM LTs. I ended up with stock Tis and sold the Corsas, much happier!
