I have ordered a set of Crane Roller Rockers.....How hard is it to install the rockers? If I mess it up, is there much chance of really messing up my engine? I would rather pay a professional than save a dime and mess up the engine.
Where did you order them from. Did you order the springs as well? The Cranes have a special installation procedure, and in my opinion, unless you have someone familiar with them install them, you are better off doing it yourself. They are not hard to install, but require a special procedure that is time consuming but it works. When you get them, if you need help, shoot me a PM.
In the meantime, download the instructions from Vincihighperformance.com and read them over well. Let me know if there are questions. I made a couple of additions to their procedure, like once at zero lash using a Q-tip to clean the 12 o'clock position on each nut so it would be easier to keep track of the turns. You will also need to turn the motor over, now is the time to figure out how to do that. I ended up making a special wrench, easy to make if you have access to someone who can weld.
