hopped in the car to get something few weeks ago, and noticed that the lights where very dim, so I decied while I was there to try firing her up. No response, it did try turning over two times but after that was completely dead. Being late for work I hooked up my batterey tender/ charger and left it for a day and tried again. Nothing!!! So pulled my jeep hooked it up and had to wait like 5-8 minutes and then finally she started. Drove for a bit and every code/warning lit up on the DIC like Christmas in October. I noticed even after 30 minutes of driving if I rolled down my window, the dash lights and all instrumentals would cut out or fade out as if like the car was about to stall. After an hour of driving I gotten the impression that the batterey was not charging I figurered I would head back home before the car actually dies out on me in the midle of nowhere. Got home pulled in the garage shut her off and tried to start again. Not even a click, car was completely dead!!
few things I will admit that my battery has taken a beating after 4 years of owning her, such as my car has died several times due to long and cold winters as well as having an amp hooked up to the car I suspect is drawing current at all times(also gonna have that looked into). Which I am game for buying a more durable battery anyways, but what I am fearing that my buddy mentioned that he thinks it is not the battery but the alternator. Any guesses?
BTW the thanks in advance, you guys are always a great help!!!

It's your battery. Get yourself a Optima or Exide Orbital, and it should be fine!
Believe it or not, I went through 4 delco batteries before I bought a cheap everstart from walmart. The everstart has been in the car for almost 3 years without a problem...Anything is better than the delco crap. I just had to replace the delco on my 01 truck too...they suck b-a-l-l-s.
Same Thing Happened At The Customs Gate At The Border To Me, Shut Caroff Then Went To Start It And It Was Completely Dead, Never Seen One Go Like That Before With No Warning!! Replaced It From A Store Down The Road And I Was On My Way.

Went crazy when I owned my C4 looking for a parasitic drain. Discovered only too late that it was the Delco. When I bought my (used) C5 first thing I did was put in an Optima red top.

Just went thru the same thing with the wifes Range Rover..was going bad caused all kinds of things to stop working correctly...I run only red top in the vette though

I would doubt it was the alternator because if it was not charging the car would have died with a low battery. I agree that most likely it is your battery as with the majority of vettes being toys they sit for long periods of time sometimes when the weather is bad ect. And there is a constant drain on the batteries to keep the various modules memory, like the radio presets ect. not a big drain but a drain none the less.
I would say swap in another battery ad see what happens... and have the amp checked out to make sure it's not draining the battery quicker.
