Default Dynatech exhaust system troubles....

Just installed the C5 headers and power cats, and B&B exhaust on a 00 FRC. After first test drive the car had intermitent power loss. Brought it back to the shop and checked all spark plug wires and connections, and found no troubles. After second test drive, car acted the same and then threw a "check engine light". What could be the problem? I searched the forum and no one else had any problems. If they did have a code it was not performance related. It just has no power, no throttle response at all. Please help... any help would be greatly appreciated...

Check the O2 sensors; either burned the wires or got them crossed.

"No power" and "no throttle response at all" doesn't sound like intermittent power loss.

What code was set? That might point you in the right direction. Tings like broken plugs and/or wires and leaks might be at the top of my list of things to look for depending on code(s). I agree that it could be as simple front sensors being swapped but that wouldn't be intermittent. It would just flat run like crap.

ok
I would tell you to call dynatech but I will help anyway.

The guys above are correct.
You probably have the 02 sensor wires crossed or burned. If it runs good when the car is cold, that is another indication of crossed wires.

Now for the shameless plug; You will now be able to buy our LG Pro Long Tube STREET SERIES headers for less than your current headers. Not that you can change now, but for your next C5 give us a call....Ok Plug over. That was my fee for the tip.

Feel free to call me if you find that this is not the problem. You will have to convince your installer that he must actually pull one wire off of the front 02 to truly check to see if the left collector is connected to the left side of the car.

My techs did this on the very first set of headers that we sold 3 years ago. (toplessTexan's buddy) and it caused an uproar on the forum before we figured out what we did.

Thanks
