Finally some progress
The last couple of days have really been great, parts have been on time and work has finally started. Today I picked up the blocks from the Machine shop where they were:
Solid Roller:
- line bored/honed with Katech Main caps and bored 3.905
- rotating assemblies balanced, polished, and worked over
- ARP top and bottom
Hydro Roller:
- line honed and bored 3.908
- rotating assemblies balanced, polished, and worked over
- ARP top and bottom
Tonight I broke my old motor down and the bearings and pistons look great. Dropped all of the parts in the parts washer and started the rings for the new motor. Set the top rings @ .028 and the 2nd rings @ .032. Cleaned the pistons and rods one last time and numbered the Piston/rod/ring for assembly sunday after the block is throughly cleaned. Once my motor is done, I'll focus on the hydro motor we're building. So far so good!
