Used to be it just changed the seat position, mirrors, and the radio presets.
now it changes all that, and it kicks the radio back to whatever station was on when you programmed the memory and the CD player always starts on Track 13, and the Changer is always on disc 2, track 7.
on top of that, I'd say 60% of the time, the "1" memory doesn't even work (the key defaults to the second position, and I lost my main key)
is there a way to just have the memory change seat position and mirrors, and not mess with anything else?
Mine just did this today. I got in after work and the seat was all the way forward. I hit the memory button and nothing. After I moved my seat back to where I like it, I noticed all of my preset radio stations were erased. I set all 3 memory settings to my "new" seat position/radio stations so hopefully I won't have to redo it again. By the way, this was the first 30 degree day here in Dallas so I don't know if that had something to do with it or not.
Mine is erratic also - I've seen this posted about once a year, and no clear solution - moisture sounds plausible - mine always moves a little, but not all the way as it should - I was thinking seat track itself (it's only a seat problem, no wheel or radio issues)
CONNETICUT has good advice! The BCM controls all of that stuff! Pull up all of your DTC codes. If you have a ton of the U series codes listed in the DIC, you could have a low or weak battery.
The car will start fine but the battery voltage will drop low 9.5 - 10 volts on the initial turn of the key (when the starter first cranks the engine) and some of the modules will drop off line for a millisecond and as the voltage comes back to normal, they work fine. All you see as evidence that it happened are loss of presets and tale tail U series codes.
If you loose your FOB sync frequently, loose the page that you normaly have displayed in the HUD, loose your seat presets or radio presets, you could have a low or bad battery.
Please list all of the DTC codes that are present in the DIC.
