Default Exhaust question, gaskets. help:)

I got the B&B Exhaust for my 2000 convertible.
took it to the shop. Told them it's a direct bolt-on.

they called me later saying they need to find an air gasket first so the air won't leak or something?...

are they legit? as in do i really need an air gasket or jus tell them to bolt it on without buying a gasket?

There is a two bolt gasket between the mid pipe and the pipe that goes over the half shaft. You can use the original one if it's in good shape or else get one from the GM dealership, they are just a couple bucks. You can probably just get one from a parts store, I think it's 2 1/2" inside diameter but not entirely sure. Remember to get two of them, one for each side.

I haven't installed any B&Bs, but I see no reason why the stock flange gaskets wouldn't work. The stock gaskets (GM #10276792) list at $7.72 each, so you may want to check around for best price. Good luck.

Some systems come with new gaskets. Replace if needed, but don't put it back together without them.

My Borla Stingers came with not only new gaskets, but a nice baseball cap as well. You'd think other manufacturers would at least supply you with new gaskets!
