What works? Porting stock? Aftermarket? What gains are to be had?

If that's your only mod I doubt you would notice much gain. I added a Shaner S3 and LS6 manifold when I put on the LT headers. All together a nice gain but I'm not sure how much from the TB. H/C are in now and this weekend on goes the FAST LSX and LS2 90mm TB.

It all depends on you level of mods.

Just my $.02

I thought Shaner only offered the S3 version for C5s. BTW, does anyone know the physical differences betwen the S2 and S3?

I just had mine done and got it back last week for my 03 Z06 and he only offered the S2. As far as notice a difference, I picked up a couple of mph on the track under like conditions from the time I went 3 weeks ago. This change is usually only good for 5-10hp so it's hard to feel a 1% gain on a 300-400hp car. I do know that it seemed to help my WS6 Trans Am when I did it. In general, the more mods you have, the more these little things add up and tend to compound (from what I can tell from my past experience).

As far as the work Shaner does, it is top notch.

To answer your original question: go to this site. This is a great write up on the LS2 LS6 FAST with the different TBs on them.

That thread was a huge help

What about Shaner - can't seem to raise them on Google...

Thanks a million again

I would not waste my time porting the stock TB since I did not
see any gain. I would go to an aftermarket models that properly
designed and even then you might only see 5rwhp depending on
your mods. I mean it don't make a lot of sense to put 80mm TB
on an intake manifold that has a 75mm opening.

Shaner S2 here, great mod. Do waste money on a BBK or anything else, ported is a great mod. Don't think you can post a link, as he is not a forum vendor. Bret Bauer does them also, and he will powder coat it as well if you are looking for a different look.
