Motor Mount Questions???
I am posting this in the FI/Nitrous section too!
Do any of you have problems with engine mounts? I think I have a bad mount on the driver side..
The details: 04 Z06 + Procharger (ATI KIT)
Under load and heavy throttle the tensioner (front passenger side of engine compartment) will rub on the framerail. Plus when turning left and accellerating it rubs worse and makes a noise that sounds like the right front tire is rubbing.... the tire isn't rubbing on anything. I am using the correct belt per ATI for my appilication (suppose I could try a shorter belt) The clearence between the tensioner idler and the frame is only about 1/4 inch!!! I grabbed the engine and was able to rock far enough to make contact with very little effort. Even though I have an 'improved' ATI bracket, I know it's not the best... but I am sure that the bracket is not the issue here... (it's a whole different issue!!)
So what's the scoop on factory mounts?? Are they junk (especially if you have an adder??).
I haven't heard of any motor mounts breaking on the C5's, the first thing I would do is crawl under the car to make sure the nut that secures the mount to the cradle is still there and if it is, open the hood then start the car and rev the engine, if the mount is broken the engine will lift
From: Dear Karma, I have a list of people you missed.

Also, it's entirely possible that the motor mount nut(s) are not tight. Check the ones underneath the car.
I don't have a shop manual in front of me right now but I think they are 80 ft lbs or so. HTH

That's a great place to start looking... I'll get the car up in the air on Monday or Tuesday...
