My '00 passenger window does not consistently go up using the passenger side switch. The dealer said the switch was good, but a some relay/sensor that is bad AND is NLA for a '00. As a result of the NLA status, I need to install an updated passenger side sensor as well as a new sender from the driver's side: $700 installed!!
Any alternatives, such as a used switch from an earlier ('97 - '99) C5? Dealer said anything installed still had to be "programmed;" is it as simple as "programming" a wheel sensor ... or do you need a professional install?
passenger window won't go up from passenger switch
Is anyone have experience with a passenger window refusing to go up from the passenger side, but still works fine from the driver's side? If so ... any solutions other than dealer suggested replacement of sensors in BOTH doors? This car is absoltuely cherry, 15,000 miles, and having a non-functioning part is driving me crazy.
My drivers side would not go up. Buy the time My dealer got done with Me I was screwed for over $1,500.00. &700.00 is cheap if the guy doing the work does not mess up other things costing you more $$$$$
There is a relay in the Door control module that can go bad. It requires a new door control module which you could get with a discount and install it your self. There have been problems with the door wiring harness connectors. They are located in the drivers and passengers foot well area in the kick panel. If you remove the door panel you will see that there are two harnesses that get routed through the accordion tube between the door and body. Wiggle and pull on the two cables while you operate the the switch in the up position. If the window moves, you have a bad connection. I recommend inspection both connectors as they have been known to corrode, have loose wires and or burn up contacts.
The other thing that you need to do while the door panel is removed id bang on the door control module. It that fixes it, most likely the relays inside are dirty and need to be replaced. There is a really good post on this very subject.
I just need to be able to find it. It shows you how to replace your own relays inside the module.
