Default Oil Level Low: Warning...

Was driving around town, stopped in at the local grocery store, parked in a different zip code than the crowd... come back and get the oil level low warning, turn it off get the wait 10 seconds or something, started but the oil msg came back on.
Checked the level and everything is fine, drove it home 5 miles and checked it again, its fine, even added a half a quart just to make sure... code is still on.

Its a 2000 cpe mn6.

Any ideas?

Don't keep adding oil over an unreasonable amount. I had my oil sensor go bad on my 03Z. It was covered under warrenty so I had the steeler change it out. I don't think it too hard to DIY. There was a how to on here somewhere. Someone will probably chime in and help out if thats the case.
