Default Computer reprogram

I am having a Vortech air filter, an X pipe, and a Corsa Indy exhaust installed on my 02 LS1. Will the computer have to be reprogramed or will it just adjust to the new parts?

You can take your battery terminals off for 30 min. then put it back on and run it hard or however you drive it. They say that works. But reprogramming costs money. Have to put it on a dyno and get a tuner. Wouldnt be worth it now. Wait to you do some other mods like Heads, Cam, or Longtubes. Thats when you should reprogram.

No reprogramming needed for this setup. I have the Vortec Ramair and Corsa Indy's and did not have any problems.

NO reprograming is needed. However, to get the most out of your car a great dyno tune ( $300-400 ) is well worth the time and cost.

The dyno tune can get 20-30 hp more out of your engine.

Here's why you might WANT to get a reprogram...

I had bolted on headers, LS6 intake, Volant CAI and ported Tbody to my previous stock motor... It ran ok, but I wasn't sure it wasn't running a bit rich and down on torque. I spent $300 with Carolina Auto Masters and Jeff retuned it after baselining the motor on the dyno...Off idle throttle response went through the roof and I picked up over 75 Ft.# torque below 2000RPMs in the tune alone, and the torque curve was FLAT and STEADY all the way to 6200RPMs and 353Ft.#... I only picked up about 5HP in the tune at redline, but I picked up more HP sooner and the air and fuel maps were cleaned up so the car ran better, and was more efficient.

My new heads/Cam motor saw even more dramatic gains on the retune, as I picked up over 20HP, and gained over 100#ft. of torque below 2000RPMs. Off idle throttle response went through the roof again and now this car is simply amazing to drive. Before the tune, it was a real dog.

Guys **** and moan about paying for a retune, but it has been my experience that the software tuning is the final piece of the puzzle... cheap out at that point and you're missing out on some real "USABLE" gains in off idle and part throttle usage...

Just drive the car for a little while and let the computer "re-learn" it will do this by itself, and you will be good to go. When you add to your list of mods H/C ect, then you will need the retune.

Your are right for CL but it will not help OL.

I fact the relearn "overnight battery disco" will only speed up the LTFT learn as it starts LTFT learn from zero.
