HVAC Dash control unit
I have an 02 coupe and the temp control unit in the dash has a crack in the blue lense on the display. My local dealer says that I need to replace the entire unit which is around $350 - $400 for just the parts. All I need is a small blue piece of plastic. Is there a way to replace the lens only, or is the dealer right on? If so, is there a cheaper way?

I took mine apart just to see if I could spot the cold solder joints in it before sending it to "mandigital" for the display to be repaired, and I know you can replace just the blue lens. Maybe he would have one lying around? Search mandigital or find him on ebay.

The blue piece you're talking about is a separate piece. I know from taking my unit apart. I"m sure it's not something you can order individually though. You should keep your eye out for guys whos units have gone dim and are replacing theirs or post on the parts forum that you need a busted HVAC unit. Either that or contact the E-Bay guys who rebuild the displays when they dim out. They may have some lying around.
