Default Battery

I have a 99 FRC, 2 years ago I dumped the delco and went with a yellow Optima. Very happy, bought it online. If you go that route get the Optima tie down block.

I just pulled my battery yesterday because of the same thing. Interested to see what people are using to replace the stocker with.

I currently have three Exide Orbitals in vehicles right now and have had no problems at all. I've not owned an Optima yet to compare them to. My oldest Orbital is over 2 years at this point.

Good luck... GUSTO

Mike, I've never purchased a battery on ebay, but that does seem like a good price... depending on the shipping charges.

I believe I paid just over $100 at a local auto parts store that carries the Orbitals here.

had my delco battery installed at a chevy dealership in Kentucky last year while on vacation. and it's leaking already. i called them and they told me that they would replace it if i brought the car back down there. called my local chevy dealership in chicago area and because i dont have my receipt they wont replace under warranty. that i have to take it to the dealership in Kentucky where i bought the battery, because it's in there computer they would honor the claim........i rather spend the money and not worry about the battery leaking in the future.

I have an o2 and the exide orbital 75DT series fits fine, using the existing tie down. It has more capacity than the OEM battery. I believe the 78DT series is for trucks. The DT specification on batteries means it has double terminals for mounting cables either on the top or the side. The 78DT is a larger capacity battery with more cold cranking amps. It is also about one inch wider. It does look that it will fit in the battery tray. The trouble you might encounter is maneuvering it pass the wiring harness.

I replaced mine with a red top. $115 local parts store. 84 month warranty or something like that. No problems with it after 6 months.
