Let me see if i can explain this.I bought a alternator and had it chromed for my 2002 corvette.I am now trying to install it but i dont think its the one for my car,the place where the plug socket is in the wrong place. The one that is on my car is close to the top of the alt.,this one faces the head on the car.So if i can find out which year vett this goes on i will be selling it for just what i got in it.Would anyone know which year this is from, maybe check your car to see where the plug is.I dont know how to post pics here but i could email pics if anyone is interested.
Onto another question, what are the torque specs for the idler pulley and power steering pump on the alt. bracket? Thanks Guys
So what you are saying is they removed the " Nameplate", so
you have no part #, you have no manufacturer, no country of origin..or amp output specs.
How do you know it is for your car at all? These alternator/gen are very specific in that they communicate directly with the specific PCM of your car.
You can Not use the connection plug to identify the specifics of that alternator.
I was told the alt. came off a C5.AFter being chromed all the numbers are gone. I talked to the chromer today and he did say that the back plate could have been put back on in the wrong place. He told me to ship it back so he can check it out and he would pay the shipping. It goes back to them tomorrow.
