We have an H as a stock pipe. The X alone will change the tone a bit. Not much else.

It's important to note that they accomplish about the same thing which is to balence backpressure. The X is a tad bit better.

I hear the X-pipe reduces 'popping' on deceleration in aftermarket exhausts.

It really depends on what type of x pipe you get, as well as what type of exhaust system you have. i.e. headers/xpipe/straight pipes.

It is like water running though a pipe. The less interferance with few corners in the pipe, smooth inner pipe walls and larger diameter pipe the better the flow and less back pressure which gives a few more ponies.

Sounds better too.

When I installed mine (Corsa) it changed the sound ALOT, still some popping, but it is definetly quieter than the stock H.

Have Corsa X Pipe, biggest differance I noticed was the tone changed and most of all the paper rattle sound the oringinal X pipe made was gone.

Well, my plans are for the SLP Loudmouth to be installed. Should be quite the sound with or without the pipe!
