You have lost connection to your throttle position sensor on TB. Check the 2 plugs.

The DTC codes are telling us that the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is not communicating with the Throttle Actuator Controler. Recommend that you disconnect the plug on the passengers side of the Throttle Body and inspect the plug and TPS pins. The plug is tight inthe TPS connector and need to be lubricated to make it slide in the connector easily. Look for bent or broken pins. If it is truely connected properly, you could have a bad TPS. I can not see how both sides of the sensor would go bad at the same time but, it is possible.

You should be able to read the TPS with an OHM Meter. There are three plns in the sensor. The center pin is common. If you read the sensor (disconnected) with the throttle at rest (SHUT) one side will be high resistance and will decrease as the throttle blade opens. The other side will be low resistance and will increase as the throttle blade opens.

There are NO fancy procedures for the TPS. It is a plug and play sensor. You should be able to plug it in, turn the engine on and GO!

Clear your codes and see if it fixes your problem. Sometimes, active DTC codes will prevent the PCM or BCM from functioning properly even though the problem is fixed.

Please let us know how you make out.

i had the samp rpoblem except i was getting on it as I was entering the expressway and all of a sudden it comes up reduced engine power. After trailering it home I could not move the butterfly by hand at all. I removed the actuator motor and reinstalled it and now all is fine. The problem was that the butterfly was stuck and wouldnt move until i removed the motor. It was a fluke and hasnt done it since.

Try moving the actuator (butterfly ) by hand there sohold be some resistance, but should open all the way. Just my $.02

Good point!!
Yep, you should be able to push it open and when you let it go, it should swing back to just about all the way closed. there will always be a small amount of opening in the throttle blade to TB. Its normal! While your in there, it wouldnt hurt to spray the TB and butterfly with Carbruator cleaner and wipe it out with a lint free cloth!

Thanks !!
Good news : after disconnecting the 2 plugs , moving the trottle blade by hand , reconnecting , and erasing the DTCs : it work !!!
BAD NEW : After 30 sec , MIL illuminated !!!, REDUCED ENGINE POWER ON !!!! !! the problem is back !!!
Also with anti-spin problem , but not the code !?
When engine is running , in R.E.P .., if i do erase the DTCs with the scan tool, engine run well for few seconds and then the problem come back ..!!
Do you think i have to try a road test ?
Thanks, JO.

is the throttle fuse ok[it's under the hood,i think #17,should say "throt"].the 1120/1220 both set if the voltage is either too low or high]with the key on,engoine off,i think tp1 should be close to 0 volts and tp2 should be close to 5 volts and both should change as you open the throttle[1 going up in voltage and 2 going down].1516 tells you the neither the pcm or tac module can read the throttle.go check the throttle fuse, most likely it is blown.

you're sure the fuse is good? what are the tps voltages with the key on/engine off[tp1 should be almost 0,tp2 should be almost 5].you said you had access to a scanner, look at the voltages,if they both read 0,you have a voltage problem,if they both read high[5 volts]something is shorted to power[tp1,etc].but your last fault means that the pcm/tac module is not seeing the throttle and you have it plugged in,strange.go back and recheck the fuse and voltages and repost.
do you have power to the fuse? i've had fuses that looked good, but were not.

I had the same problems with my 98 MN6 Coupe. My TAC module was bad. Changed the TAC and the problem is gone!

I had the belt cut the TPS wires once. You really need to run the tests associated with these codes>> http://www.gearchatter.com/viewforum...b2baa41066ccee
