Another Bose Stereo Question
Help!!!
I have the stock bose stereo system with the stock speakers...
(I know they suck but for now this will have to do....
)I'm trying to install an aftermarket amplifier and a 10" sub I've tried using the rear speakers to get the signal but that didn't work. Can anyone tell me where to get stereo signal for the amp.
I have a 2000 Coupe....
Thanks!!!

You will need something like this. I know there are other brands as well and that you should be able to buy them at a best buy or other car stereo install place. Good luck

I know top quality sound may not be important to everyone, but you must be unhappy with some part of your sound to want to change it.
My advice:
Instead of spending $100 + on an adapter, consider upgrading speakers and head unit.
Get a better quality head unit like Alpine or Eclipse ($200-400 from Woofers etc.com) to feed that new amp.
If your spending money on an amp and a sub already, you really may want to consider this upgrade and get new speakers, even if it's just the doors to start out with.
I've heard so many folks put adapters into existing 2 ohm factory systems and they sound
I'd rather spend my money doing it right instead of doing it again.
Just my 2 pence.

..if I were to change the head unit then I can't us any of the existing wiring I would have to rewire then entire stereo system....(at least that was what I have found out.)

It's not too bad with help. I helped another Forum member re-wire his stereo, speakers and amp and it sounded and looked killer.
He bought an Alpine head unit with a face plate from Vrum Vrum here on the Forum.
Best wishes on the new set up whatever you choose.

This will explain how to tap into the low level outputs to add an amp and a sub. I have pulled all the Blose speakers, and replaced them with JL XR's, with a 8" JL Sub in the rear compartment powered by an Alpine amp.
I retained the stock HU to keep the look, not that it was all that good, but I have had too many systems taken from my cars.
I think it took me about 3-4 hours to rewire and mount everything.
, I don't think its the adapeter (as the remote power on does not go throught the adapter). I have a 10 inch infinity, I think it really helps the low volume.
It was more work than I really wanted, but still pretty happy with the results. Taking apart the console and HU surrond is very easy. And when I ran the wires to the amp (I put it in the back) I took the opportunity to put in some frost king, which helped lessen the road noise. But it really added to the overall time.
I had replaced the twidlers in the doors with 3.5 infinitys (only $40

By the way I have a 2000 coupe as well.
