Default Roll Cage Selections

Is anyone the forum experienced with the different roll cage selections there are to choose from? Has anyone got some websites with installation photos of the different styles available? I'm kind of curious how a cage install goes in a fiberglass car. I will be needing one and plan on purchasing on this week.

If your going to run 9's you need a cage. Otherwise a roll-bar will be fine. If you need a cage I would look for a local race car fabrication shop in your area. Rollbar kits you can get pre bent from Wolfe Racecraft. What type of motor are you putting in that to run 9's? Thats crazy fast

Most Roll cages are custom built in the car and not off the shelf.

Depending on which orgainzation you plan to race with will determain what cage tech specs you need. Just because you have a cage does not mean it will pass techincal inspections.

Check out the rules of the orgainzation you plan to race with.

http://www.scca.com look under teh General Racing Code then roll cage.

or http://www.racenasa.com

or the Drag race organizations. NHRA or ??

Too give you an idea here is one custom cage builder in my area

Durham NC

This question might be more approprate in the

General Corvette - Autocrss and Road Racing forum

Lots of good info there.

HTH & Good Luck

Edit: One more thing, once a cage goes in, dont look at selling your car as the value just dropped in 1/2. PPL seldom by race cars, very special market.

Maybe give LG a call and see if they can do a cage for you or recommend someone.
