It is on when you first startyour car. You can defeated it by pushing the button once, or put it in competition mode by holding down the button for about five seconds.
It is real invasive and will only allow a very little amount of wheel slippage. Also jumps in quickly when you are in a yaw situation.

If you just have traction control, see below, you do not have comp mode. It is always on until the litlle yellow light shows on the dash. The Tc will reduce engine power and stop the tires from spinning to much. To do a nice burnout you need to shut it off.
