You need to access both plugs and inspect each and every pin for corrosion, and make sure each female pin has the correct amount of grip on the male pins. It called a pin pull test. Just go to the dealer and get a male pin the exact same size as the ones in the male connector.

I had the same problem in my 02 Z06 while I was at last summer's Carlisle swap meet. Yea it was pouring down rain. Luck for me it failed in the UP position. I disassembled the door and wiggled the wiring harness and BAM, it has not failed since. I was this close " to buying a used LDCM.

Follow up to my previous message and confirmation of Bills assessment - I just got back from my dealer (took a list of the 14 error codes mine threw and talked to the mechanic) he said the same thing - check and verify connection at the module.

Also said it is known to set a boatload of error codes ... and communication loss errors across the spectrum.

Commented that on a couple of occasions, he's seen a loose door module connections cause the car to enter "limited power" mode.

Default loss of power

I had the same problem with my 2000 Coupe. Driver door harness was bad. It would light up the dash and reduce engine power. Also the windows wouldn't work. The harness is an expensive part. I bought a used one off a wrecked car that was being parted out on ebay for $20.

When replacing it, pull the panel off the door first and start at the lock. That way by the time you get to the inside of the car, you don't need to take much apart there just plug it in.

You guys are awesome! My 99 vert. just had the pass. window freeze in the down position. Door lock wouldn't work either. I was 15 min. away from buying a BCM. The accordian wiggle did the trick. I will fix it more permanently this weekend but this sure saved my butt this afternoon.
