Alright, here we go. Now I I do know that I've seen several posts in relation to wheel hopping being a bad thing. I understand that. What I don't understand is how on a MN6 do I keep it from doing that, while at the same time burn a little rubber..
Is it my tires? These that I currently have on aren't runflats.
Not high enough RPM before letting the clutch go... It's just since I haven't been able to successfully burn rubber...
I have run flats, and mine hop whenever you mash the throttle from 20mph up to redline. It sucks. I've NEVER been able to full throttle in 1st gear because of this!! And my car is stock!
My 98 MN6 hopped more than my 02 Z06. I have found out that if you load the drive train (let the clutch out until it just starts to move the car) that it will hop less if not at all. If I rev it up to about 3000 and don't shock the drive train hard (let the clutch out in a controlled but quick fashion) that I get a wicked cool burn out. I have headers, vararam and a tune on the Z and I can get a nice burn from a roll in first, and second!
My experience is on a basically stock car with an M6 you need to get the revs up to about 3000-3500 then let the clutch out smoothly. You will fry the tires with no hop. This is fun but also a no traction situation. So you will get your head handed to you if you are running something that hooks up. Tom
