Sounds like you about got it! Isn't it good to hear the train at the end of the tunnel? I have been told the left and right coil packs are exactly the same, have not tried swapping them myself but they should be the same. So you should be able to look at your right side coil pack wiring and tell. You could also swap packs let to right if you wanted to see it that made all the right pipes heat up. Really easy, just a few minutes.
Its not the same,Unless #8 is close to the rad.I went back out to double check and its opposite.

They should be the same. Remember you rotate the coil pack 180 degrees when you move to the other side. So Coil 1 will be back on 8 once moved to the other side, Coil 3 will match 6, Coil 5 will match 4, and Coil 7 will match 2. Look at the diagram below which match the coils with the pins in the plugs. Notice when you rotate the pack 180 the pins are in the same order.

Looking at those diagrams from the manuals, GM has coil 4 and 8 listed as the same pin G in connector C110 which is the coil pack plug, which we all know can't work. Coil 4 should really be pin C not G like they show. Little errors like that can be a real mess when troubleshooting! Does your printed manuals show coil 4 and 8 both on pin G?
I found a picture in the manual the plug where the computer is and it tells you what each pin is and it showed what color wire went to each coil.there are 4 wires,3 are the same color for all 8 coils and 4 different colors for were each plug on the coil goes. Purple went to # 1cyl,blue went to #3,Green went to #5 and red went to #7 and it showed the same for the passenger side,I did that and it ran like it was before popping out the exhaust.I came in side to go back on the forum and then it dawned on me,so I went back to the car and flopped the passenger side back to the way it was and it fired right up.All along the drivers side was the only wires that were wrong.I'm just glad its running too!
