Default Diff side cover

Hi,is there enough space to remove the differential side covers underneath the car and to replace the O-ring seals?
Had my left shaft seal done last week but noticed some oil on the diff....bummer.
Now I do have to take care of the O-rings....maybe some pics wil help.

Thanks in advance, Greetz Erik.

You might be able to get to the passenger side,But the drivers side has a bolt that holds the diff on,And its on the cover. If you can look underneath there you will see what I mean. You have to take off the exhaust and pull the axles out.Maybe someone else will chime in with some more info.

I know what you mean....on each diff side cover there is such a bolt.Let me put it this wayo I only need to get the left exhaust out in order to remove the diff side cover??Or do I need to remove more things like springleaf etc?

If you have a jack and some jack stands and you know what your doing, you can take the leaf spring out. What ever side your working on,I would take the muffler and the pipe that goes over the axle out.The more stuff out of the way the easy it is to get to things You say the left side, meaning the drivers side? If so I believe you have to slide the diff out alittle,Because there's a stud coming off the cover if I remember.I said bolt before,I should have said stud.Do you have an auto?

Yep it's a 1999 coupe A4,and I did replace my shaft seal a week ago.I thought it was dry but after a while driving there is a little drip popping up.You can see that it is coming from the diff side cover where it meets the diff on the lowest bolt.If I can perform this procedure again with not to much of a hassle and the cover can be removed(quite)easily I would be very happy.I've done it before in 3 hours time....only now the cover has to be removed....
