In an effort to hunt down the cause of my "service TCS and ABS" light, it was suggested that I check/clean the ground G401 in the driver's side rear section of the car. I looked there last night and could not locate it. I was able to easily find the passenger side rear ground on the frame rail. Does anyone have a picture or can describe to me where the G401 ground is located?
Thank you!

not sure if its the same one but there is a ground on the rear frame you can see if you look through the tire well, right about in-line w/ the side reflector....
I did find a simple loop-ground thing on that side. Was that the G401 ground? I removed and cleaned it last night, but it didn't solve my problem when I started it up this morning.
If you have a 97 or early to mid year 98, your EBTCM is locater in the rear on the back of the Differential.
For late year 98 to 2004 the EBTCM is located in the engine compartment, on the drivers side between the engine and the radiator. Look below the radiator hose.
Module removed from the BPMV
There are more than one ground for the EBTCM circutery. One of the grounds is at Chassis Ground G-101.
The ground for the EBTCM is the single eyelet below the main ground plug. While you ave the main ground plug off, might as well clean it too>
The other Ground g-104 on early C5's and G-108 on later C5's is inboard of the battery on top of the frame on a single stud.
Well crap. I cleaned the grounds at #7 and #8, per Patches' illustration (thanks Patches!). I cleared the codes and started the car, and the codes came back.
So I guess my problem must lie somewhere else.
Here is info. from the manual. Send Bill Curlee a PM he will sort you out.
C1243
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the pump motor relay is grounded by the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) , it closes and provides battery voltage to operate the pump.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) C1243 can be set when the pump motor relay has been commanded off after the pump motor has been on. A malfunction has occurred if the pump motor was on, and the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) sensed a stuck or slowly turning pump motor.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
ABS/TCS/Active Handling (if equipped with RPO JL4) are disabled.
Indicators that turn on:
ABS indicator
Car Icon (TCS indicator)
Messages displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC) :
Service ABS
Service Traction System
Service Active HNDLG (if equipped with Active Handling RPO JL4)
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
Condition for Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is no longer present and Scan tool clear DTC function is used.
Fifty ignition cycles have passed with no DTCs detected.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
It is very important that a thorough inspection of the wiring and connectors be performed. Failure to carefully and fully inspect wiring and connectors may result in misdiagnosis, causing part replacement with reappearance of the malfunction.
An intermittent malfunction can be caused by poor connections, broken insulation, or a wire that is broken inside the insulation.
If an intermittent malfunction exists refer to Testing for Electrical Intermittents in Diagnostic Aids.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to step numbers on the diagnostic table.
Checks for good pump motor ground.
Checks for good pump motor ground through the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) .
