Help...FOB Problems

I have a 98 coupe and all of a sudden it sems it has a mine of its own. It locks and unlocks inself now and then (without me pushing anything) when my fobs are in range. Passive is off. I was told my fobs are ok so it must be something in the car.

Anyone have any ideas on where to look or had the same problems.

Mine was the fob, despite appearances

I had the exact same symptoms. Despite what troubleshooting options seemed to indicate, mine turned out to be a bad FOB. Got new fobs, pulled the battery out of the old one and things were cleared up.

If I may ask, what did you pay for new fob.....Chevy stealership wants $100.

Try going into OPTIONS and de-selecting the passive lock function. See if that helps!

I had the same problem. I took them apart and cleaned them. They worked for a while, but just a short term fix. Decided to just use the key.

Mine goes nuts about every 3-4 months. I run the switch back and forth with gusto about 20 times. Gives me several more months of use.

I got one on E-Bay for about $10 as I recall.
