I have a 2000 C-5 with head, cam, and exhuast upgrades. I know I have a power program of somekind. My mechanic suggested Dyno tuning the car to maximize the upgrades I have done. Is this better and worth the 500.00. What is the difference, and do I have to worry about losing it when I go see Mr. Goodwrench for warranty stuff. I'd like to hear some opinions. It sounds awesome to me. Are there any downfalls? Thanks.

Sounds like you got it right...but the dealership servicing your car may flash your PCM taking out your tune and putting it back to stock. I guess you can request them NOT TO FLASH the PCM. Someone whill chime in with more information..
Well, despite the fact that the heads/cam probably voided the powertrain warranty anyway here is my advice.
1. Program your car back to stock with your programmer that you've got and then sell the unit (if your program is done via a hypertech or some other handheld).
If you have a heads cam car,,,,your WAY out of the hand held programmer league!!!! You really need to sell that thing and purchase EFI Live or HP tuners and tune it your self OR have it professionally tuned to get the most out of your combo!! Just make sure that your done with all of your mods!
As for the dealer, if you have any work done before they do the work Have them write on the repair order DO NOT FLASH OR REPROGRAM PCM! If you have a good tuner, you will actually have a copy of your tune and cam have them reinstall the tune NO COST!!!
