Default DIY A4 Tranny beef

I am trying to get all I can out of this tranny before I have to rebuild it. It works great, but I am putting on a Maggie, and it's going to put a strain on the stock tranny. I would like to do everything I can to help increase it's life without taking the tranny out. Besides a tranny cooler, what else can I do? I have thought about ordering some Aluminum Servo Pistons, and a Transgo shift kit. Would this do anything for the tranny's life?

I'd say go with a trans-go. I had no problems with my trans with a cam in it and it would run 11.5 all day. I would also stay away from synthetic trans fluid. The fluid being more slick will cause you cluthes to slide which is not good.

I just read at the Transgo website, that the shift kits won't shift hard on my 99' because of the Torque Managment! Any commnets on this from anyone? If that is the case, then what good would a shift kit be?

granted the trans has 89k on it. so go figure
i tried to cheap out of it, lesson learned. new RPM trans rocks!
Oh aren't you the Good News person.
This is what I am kind of afraid of. Seems these A4's are a hit and miss. Some will last a while, and some fizzles out with only 400 RWHP.
Did you have DR on, or run craps? I know I will have to take it easy until I can spring for more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ It's one step at a time. Hopefully the steps aren't too far apart.

at that time i had on kuhmo ecsta asx's...hahahaha

it was just time, car was babied (89k) until i got my grubby paws on it. maggy puts down some good torque right at the get go, my trans couldnt take it....yours might be diff.
dont know until u try.
FYI, the car drove fine for the next couple of days while waiting for the trans install, as long as i didnt romp on it..hahahaha stayed out of the boost area. but the power was soooooo much fuuuunnnnn!!

Yeah I know, and I will. But for the mean time, I want to see if I can "Borrow" some time. Anybody knows what it is that usually fails inside the A4?
