anyone ever broken their midpipe?
So I ran 3 times in the vette. I noticed a little bit of slippage on each launch, but was still able to pull down a !weak! 8.7@83 with a 2.0 60ft. I decided I wanted to see just how much of the stock 78k mile clutch I had left so I did a 4800 drop. The rpms shot up to about 5400 and not a bit of tire spin. There was a neat white smoke and clutch smell from under the car. I let off and get back on it and run a 9.13. Clutch still pulls good on the street, just not with track compound. I have a c6z06 sitting in my living room floor so no worries anyhow.
I decided to park the vette and get a run in in the cavalier that i had my friends follow me down in. Ran a pathetic 2.5 60ft and 10.8 WTF? I ran consistent 10.15's in it a month ago. I guess the imediate transition from RWD to FWD made it rough. I dunno. We get ready to leave and I go to start the vette up and I hear this horrible sound. The exhaust flange where my Corsas' bolt to the mid pipe has broken off. For no reason
We rigged the exhaust up and and made the 80 mile drive home with a cut-out on one side of the vette. I have a spare midpipe from an 04 Z06 in my shed. I thought about putting it on this morning, just too pressed for time. I wonder thought about cutting the other flange and just running some turn downs for a couple of weeks
. I am going to order the LG headers and midpipes anyhow so might as well not mess with putting in an x-pipe just to remove it again. Time for some back woods rumble!Anyone ever have their rear flange just break?

Thanks for the info!
