There are a couple of threads on the euro clear lamps that will guide you.

Nix pulling that approach fuse guys. If you read the circuit description in the service manual you will discover that there are some BCM functions that get their power through this circuit. For example when I tried it with my 04 my pre-set tuner memory dropped.

There is a better way and you will get to keep all of your cars other functions. The best part is that it's a solution created by GM.

Over a year ago I asked the same question. A guy named Jochen in Germany stepped in. He had a C5 built for the US market, however, in Germany DRL's are not legal. If he had purchased a car built for the European market they would have been deleted but since his car was a US model they needed to be turned off. GM provided a solution in the form of two jumpers that were fitted into specific locations after two relays in the floor board fuse box were removed.

Jochen wrote up the solution with pictures in the tech tips section. I used it on my 04 and it works great. All other functions in the car will continue to work perfectly. (As for working in a C6 I would not try it.)

Jochen's solution can be found here:

Daytime running lights on 04s? I am going to guess that means they are always popped open, then? Am I right? If I am, then I want to be wrong...

This is easy...I promise !

1. In the passenger footwell, lower the front carpet.
2. Remove the foot panel.
3. Locate the IPEC (Instument Panel Electrical Center) It looks like the fuse box next to the battery.
4. Remove the cover of the IPEC.
5. Turn it over and find the diagram of the components.
6. Locate relays 38 and 40. (38 controls the right DRL and 40 the left)
7. Pull each relay and carefully remove the cover.
8. Insert some type of insulator between the relay contacts (matchbook cover cardboard or the plastic from a coffee can lid works well) that you have cut to fit.
9. Replace relay cover, replace relay, replace IPEC cover, replace the footwell.
10. DONE!!

You will now have NO drl's and retain ALL of your APPROACH features. I have had mine this way for over three years and have had not a prob. Good luck and feel free to PM mewith any question you might have.
Do you know if this would work with the c6 Thanks
