Default It fixed,kinda,sorta

Well,The water leak was found.the water reservoir broke where the rubber hose goes to the pipe. The water was spurting on to my headers and drying.Thats why I couldn't find any water under my car.A new water reservoir was installed and no more leak.BUT now the low coolant is displayed. When I cancel it,it comes back.Any suggestions?this is bugging me to no end.The car is a 99Vette.Everything is connected correctly. Is there a different sensor for the different years/Visually,the reserviors appear to be identical. Are the sensors different.Any help would be appreciated.

Default Upside down sensor

Rod,

I had the same problem when I took out my reservoir. It turned out the when I put the sensor back in, I put it in upside down. Just turn it 180 degrees and I’ll bet that will do it. Glad you found the leak.

Good Luck,

Clayton from Las Vegas

Thanks,I'll give it a try.I checked the sensor and I don't see how you can install it up side down.the wiring won't connecy to the sensor as it attaches to the bottom of the sensor.Maube we are talking about to different things.Rod

Default Ok... here is a really dumb question...

Did you fill the tank up to the top...after the install, and check it, after it cooled down.... it might be telling you it IS low...

Default Its full!

I checked it last night and again this morning, its full.I think the sensor might be the wrong one for my car.I looked it up at G.M. Parts and different years take different parts. The parts look identical, but the sensors are different.

I had the same problem. Damn DIC would light up everytime I started the car. One of the things you live with but annoying. When I read your post I said thats ridiculous but.... I went out to the car and twisted it around and couldnt believe it no more light. Thanks. There doesnt seem to be a right side up or down but there must be. Mine ended up with the groove on top.
