First of all, you need to do something about your spelling.
Second, how do you know the accidents were caused by steering lock up?

This goes out to all my corvette forum brothers and sisters I contacted the NTHSA TWO YEARS AGO WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHILE I WAS PULLINGAWAY FROM MY HOUSE I WAS DOING AROUND 15 TO 20 MPH. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO BELIEVE GM SAYS THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE
I SAY BULL****!!!!!!!!!!!! After contacting the NTHSA and
after many members took my advise and contacted NTHSA it looked like
we had a sullution but guess what GM convinced thye NTHSA that this could never happen and these asswipes at the NTHSA agreed. My only wish is that someone from GM is driving there c5 someday and the steering wheel locks up while driving and they get injured to the extent that MAYBE GM WILL FINALLY FESS UP AND COME CLEAN AND ADMIT THEY LIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont get me wrong I really dont want to see anyone else hurt by this defect but maybe if a big GM big wig is involved in a column lock accident then the truth will comeout

I have a 2004 MN6 with 4000 kms on it and have been waiting for this treaded lock to happen to me. Nothing yet, strange how it affects some cars and not others? Mystery to me.

This issue mainly happens with early c5's 97 through 99 some later modles have been affected but the largest majority is earlier cars your 2004 shouldnt have this issue from what I have been told
