Consider that conventional oils can begin breaking down at 180 and loose their lubricating ability. Granted the M1 oil is a better oil and will take high temps. But also consider the $$ invested in Oil coolers and not oil heaters. Given oil temps of 180 or 190 with M1 I would say drive on and don't worry about it. At 180 oil will still flash off the water. Heat water in a pan to 180 and watch it rapidly disappear. I would not worry about the cooler oil. But then that's must my $.02

PS I did have oil coolers on my Pratt & Whitney turbos.. and I did fly.

So now with the big cooler, internal EOC I am running about 10 degrees cooler on the oil and coolant. My tranny temps have droped a lot too since the internal TOC keeps temps down before going to my external tranny cooler. The biggest difference is when I drive the car hard the temps don't jump up but rather barely increase!!!

Thanks again to everyone who posted their advise. The oil is getting up to 194-198 during my freeway comutes (30-60) minutes twice a day. And usually on the last few mile home I run it a little and get the oil to 202. On the weekend its always going to get over 200

I think a small fan setting adjustment may do the trick but I will wait to see what happens at the track first.

I'm going to use mine as my DD this summer, because the kids...well, you know.

My commute is only 5 miles, so on the weekends I'll go on longer runs to get everything up to temp. I have a 160 stat and tuned fan switch points, so it will be interesting to watch the oil temps this summer.

Well I'm getting much more than that:

30 lbs at 750 rpm

40+lbs at 2500 rpm
