Default ARP Tapered Washers for Studs

I put the flat side down, nothing in the instructions. Anyone else have instructions that tell you which side goes down? Haven't torqued them yet just in case.

Thanks. The nuts on the studs tightened up kind of weird. As you tightened them they seems to get easier then harder as you tightening. Never ran into this before.

This is the studs bedding in to the threads in the boss in the block. This can skew the torque load you are attempting to achieve on that fasteners. After you fully complete torquing down all the fasteners, you should back them all off and start completely over. Doing this re-torque procedure will help ensure you get even and proper torque on all fasteners. Some people even will come back to these fasteners after a couple weeks of motor operation and do another final pass on them all; good insurance.

I've neve had a head gasket failure of any kind except when I torched through one with extreme amounts of nitrous.

Great, I just put on the exhaust. ARP told me specifically not to re-torque on an MLS gasket also.
