I have half a maple trees leave stuck up between my rad and trans cooler and hopefully the screen will prevent this. Where do you buy and what's the install if you know.
some vendors sell them...about $80-90..I made one for less than $20 with parts from Home Depot...basically screws right in under there.
Yep, the only way to go. Nobody but you will see it. If others see it I guess you will have more serious problems. (Your car will be upside down ) But really, I did it this way and it works just fine. If you are interested in detailing the undercarriage, then you can buy an after market one and have it gold platted.
They are just taking delivery on an upgraded version of the screen. The original screens were made of galvinized steel. The new screens are now made of aluminum, which won't rust and are lighter than the steel screens.
I bought metal screen from Home Depot for about $8 that gives you enough meat to make at least 6 screens. Gave some to my friends. It bolts in using the existing screws that hold the front bumper to the radiator shroud, five screws, that's it. Or you can buy the same thing from Mid-America for $60.
I got mine from WCC, but I highly recommend it whichever way you go (DIY or vendor). I couldn't believe the crap they blew out of there before installing it and it only had 7K miles on it.

Thanks
One of the better investments I've made. I went with a really nice one from Corvette Central. It was slightly over $100 but well made. Comes with easy to follow instructions. Happy Vetting!!!
I read in a previous thread about this topic that there is some concern for reducing necessary air flow depending on the mesh size.......

I have the Home Depot DIY type...my screen is galvanized metal with a mesh size of 1/2" X 1/2", which is small enough to block most leaves, plastic bags, and sparrows...yes my C5 sucked up a sparrow! Some debris does find its way onto the condensor so I do remove the screen occassionally to vacuum the area...I only have to remove 3 machine screws to take the screen off...
