Vararam Intake
I just purchased a vararam intake for my auto 2000 C5 corvette along with a VINCI VHP TUNER. I also have a Tbryne MAF ends, larger air bridge, and smooth air bellow. I was wondering how i should tune my car now with the Vinci tuner. I heard Vararam leans out the car alot, along with the Tbryne MAF ends and air bridge, but i also hear that the computer fixes the air/fuel ratio accordingly and its the knock that robs the horsepower. Can i fix this problem with the Vinci tuner by adding fuel or timing?
PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE I AM LOST!!!! Any information will do me good. I just need to know exactly what to do with my Vinci according to the mods i have.
Thanks Alot guys

Good luck

I don't have a Vinci tuner, but I do have a Crane Power Tuner. I know that Vinci helped develop that unit. How do you change fuel in the Vinci unit? With the Crane unit, you can only change the injector size by a percentage amount.
BTW, I would imagine the 'Hi-performance' tune increases the timing.
I would perform a re-learn on the computer first and give it a couple hundred miles to adjust.
If you tune on it "before" it has a chance to adjust you won`t be getting accurate feedback on which to make your adjustments.
If after the re-learn you still need to make adjustments, by all means contact Vinci, the are very helpful and can provide you with the proper adjustments to make.
For the record, the Crane/Vinci tuner is an excellent tuner, with my set-up I used the number 1 Perf cam setting and advanced the timming 10%, and leaned out 1 setting,+ 16oz of Torco. I lost 10rwhp but GAINED 42rwflbs!!!! 385rwtq on an A4 with Vararam,QTP TRI-Y headers, RandomTech cats/x-pipe.... not to shabby...... this tuner can produce some real gains if used correctly.
Don`t forget to check your a/f on a dyno if you start making big adjustments, too lean is bad news!
Good luck!

The thing is that i dont know if im running lean or not, i havent hooked my car up to anything that could read my air/fuel ratio. I was just told by someone that the Tbyrne MAF ends would run the car lean, along with the big air bridge and Vararam.

The code will confirm which bank/banks are running lean.
This is exactly what happened when I tried a Granatelli maf to my car, lean codes! I ended up going back to stock and no more problems.
If you aren`t throwing codes you should be fine, the computer usually
adjusts to the increased air flow without issues.
Good luck!
