I'm running the Crane double roller kit with a ported stock LS6 pump with my own thicker than factory pump spacers and my factory cover didn't hit anything. Can you tell where it is hitting? If it is hitting on the oil pick tube (which is common) you can probably just grind the cover and fix that problem. If that is the case you will be grinding the gasket surface a little narrow, not grinding the cover thinner. Other wise you may try to push the cover up on the motor and shake it a little and see if the pump will leave a mark on the inside of the cover so you can see where it is hitting. Then you may be able to grind the cover a little, but be careful, the factory cover are pretty thin in places. The SLP oil pump should be the exact same casting as the factory pump.

Not sure I understand where it is hitting either, but just as an available option the QTP 2 piece cover is setup for their larger volume pump and will provide more clearance. Just want to put that out there in case you end up in a real bind.

its hitting on both sides of the pump. if your looking at the timing chain cover on the inside it hits right on the lip of the circle on each side.

Is it hitting the heads of the 4 bolts that holds the pump to the block? My chain kit came with longer bolts with shorter heads to give more clearance at the bolt heads. Did you use the factory bolts to put the pump back on with? The factory bolts have pretty tall heads on them. Did your chain kit come with extra bolts?

Do you have a photo of where it is hitting?
