Default question regarding the ac/heater control unit.

i was reading the other day on here how to fix this thing, so i took it out and did exactly what you guys said, soldering the 8 resistors, i put it back in, and what do you know....IT WORKS, i can't believe it....i want to say thanks guys not only for the idea but for making me look like a genious to my wife... .
but now a few of the buttons don't light up, and to be honest with you i think i did a crappy job trying to fix them, i was thinking to maybe go to auto wrecker and buy a different one, do you guys know of other GM makes/models that have used the same unit? i know if i say a corvette first thing they gonna say to me is no, and if they have it they probably charge me double, any info on this will really help me, i will be using this for now as it lights up nicely.

Congrats on the repair!

did they work before you took it apart?

maybe you didn't line them up properly when you reassembled the unit?

no, the light bulbs.

didn't you say that a few buttons don't light up now?

check to make sure the bulbs are not folded down onto the board, or make sure that they are sitting up.
