I am a corvette owner (98 C5), but use a little 99 mitsubishi mirage to get around as a DD. This is the problem with the DD:
I come to a stop and it slowly starts to shake a bit, then die. I can easily turn it back on again, so the problem is not likely the battery. A kragen employee (only car-related thing open when I went to check) told me it was likely a problem with the "lock cylinder" (he wasn't sure of its exact name). Again, it only dies when I come to a stop, while it is actually being driven, everything feels fine.
Please offer any suggestions
Again, I apologize that this is about a car other than the vette, but I have great trust in forum members, so I thought I'd ask everyone here.

Thanks
Throttle position sensor. sounds like what it is to me.
Maybe a vaccuum leak, bad gas, dirty injectors, bad wires(was it raining?).Sounds minor, try a visual inspection and if all looks well try fresh tank of fuel and throw some injector cleaner in it and beat on it a little.JER
I do know its been a long while since a tune up (car has 98k on it now), but not sure exactly, but would say at least 2 years. And the check engine light is NOT on. But I am not sure how to "pull the codes." Thanks again for all the suggestions though.
Most likely you don't have a code but you can gring the car to one of those chain parts stores they will pull the codes for free.Since there is no check engine light, I would go ahead and give it a tuneup. After 2 years it needs it regardless, even if it doesn't correct the problem completely it's a good place to start. Plugs,wires,air-fuel filters, some fuel system treatment, cleaning the throttle body. Also I just noticed you said something about a lock cylinder any more info on that.
All right. I went down to my local shop and they told me that my fuel injectors and fuel filter were very dirty. They cleaned the injectors and replaced the filter. It seems to be "fine" now (it at least has stopped dying at every red light), but you're right, I should still do a tune up. Thanks to all for your help.
