2001 Operating Temp.

I was recently stuck in stop and go traffic and the outside temp was around 95 degrees. I noticed the coolant temp went up to 230 and leveled off. As soon as the traffic opened up the temp went back down to around 195. Is this normal or is 230 too high??

Normal! Both fans don't even come on til like 225. I put in a 180 thermostat and had the fans reprogrammed when I had my car tuned after the cam install. Now my car never gets above 195 in traffic and the Houston heat.
