Default Grrr!!!

Well on April 19th, I bought a used 01 Corvette from a dealership. It is soooo beautifull! It is the Mellenium Yellow and it matches my yellow silverado and my yellow collectors edition Trans Am. Well on April 20th I had to take it back to the shop for the engine squeeling. So they changed the belt. I picked it back up on the 21st. Took it home, next day still squeeling! Took it back the next week. They changed the belt again, poicked it up a few days later! 2 days after STILL having problems, but now it has a tick too! Took the service manager out on a drive, he can't hear anything unusual! TAKE YOUR EARPLUGS OUT!!!! So they changed some pulleys. Got it back, STILL HEARING NOISES!! It is back in the shop and they changed the harmonic balancer, called me to tell me it was done, I said I was coming to pick it up, they called 5 mins later and said now the engine is flashing some o2 sensor code!
The dealership has been sooo horrible! I have only recieved 2 phone calls in all of the 4 times it has been in there. I have contacted GM directly but since it it used they wont help me. The dealership has lied to me! They first said there was no problem but they changed several things, then it was fixed, then they tried to tell me it was normal and it would always be like that! It is a high performance machine you know they make noise!
I tried talking to the general manager about it and he blew me off! The sales manager blew me off! The service manager blew me off! I am soooo mad! I don't know what to do. I filed with the BBB and the DCA but the dealership doesn't care. I got the carfax and found out the previous owner only had the car for 6 months before he got rid of it, back to the same dealership!
Any suggestions of what to do?

Take it to a different dealer! Specifically one that has more experience with the C5!

C5's do have a lot of valve train noise and piston slap. So the tick may well be normal.... the squeal is not nor is the O2 sensor codes.

since it is used and out of GM warranty, your best bet is to keep working with the deale ryou bought it from....

Yeah I bought the extended warranty, BUT I am not going to pay to have this work done. That is why I wont take it to a different place! this was a pre existing problem, they didn't let me drive it before I bought it because they said it would be to difficult to get it out of the showroom just for a test drive!!! I should have suspected something from the start.
I think this qualifies for a lemon but I don't know how that works.

The tick I figured out was the NEW belt they put on was torn apart and was slapping something in there. When I looked under the hood ith the service manager I noticed the belt wasn't even on properly! It wasn't aligned on the guides!! BUT that wasn't the problem.

Again I say GRRRRR!!!!

Sorry to hear of your problems, but it does sound like they're going in the right direction...harmonic balancer...just had that happen to me. Lots of screeching and squealing going on. They usually try to change out the AC compressor first, so be glad that hasn't happened to you(about a $1000). Mine was an aftermarket harmonic balancer issue.

Stick with it, unless you're positive they're giving you the run-around.
Calm down and let it run it's course. It's best for you and the car...unless you are positive they're not taking care of business.

that belt squealing thing is a pita in many c5s. in our case, the light squealing noise ceases when the block warms up. have had it checked & rechecked to no avail. ?? bub
